Flamingo Day
Today, we salute an American icon, Don Featherstone. Don sadly passed away today at the ripe old age of 79, and alongside being a sculptor, is most famous for inventing the pink flamingo lawn ornament. This little piece of Americana kitsch, first born and first produced in 1957, has become a cultural icon here in America. Some place them in yards for decoration, some place them as jokes. At the end of the day, however, it’s a bit fun little joke, not unlike what we do. Steve has always loved flamingo ties, and our collection reelects that! We may be the most flamingo fanatic tie tie company around!
To celebrate Don, we invite you to check out our own little contribution to Americana: our “Flamingo Flamenco” tie. Flamingo Flamenco… what a tie! Born right here in Steve’s studio, it’s available at http://birddogbay.com.
Hockey Tie!
Its playoff time for Hockey and our Hockey Tie is restocked just in time! The Blackhawks are playing in the Stanley Cup this week, and there is quite a buzz around the street of Chicago. What a better way to show off your support than by rocking our Hockey Camp bow tie, and necktie! It comes in blue (if you are supporting the Tampa Bay Lightning) and red (if you are supporting the Chicago Blackhawks)… This is a fun tie to wear to the office, given the conservative colors schemes and traditional pattern. Its a face off! For this tie, there is no need to have sick mitts to knot up this winner. Rest assured you’ll be The Great One anywhere from the rink to the watch party with this classic hockey pattern. Our designs are hand-printed on 18 momme, 100% silk, and constructed by hand. Our hockey tie is sure to be a game winner!
PS. We have to take the side of our hometown hawks for this battle… LETS GO CHICAGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
